THEORY AND HAZARD PERCEPTION TEST

You can pay by credit or debt card and you will be given a time and date over the phone, or you can get an application form from the above number if you don’t have a credit card
When you go to sit your theory test you must produce:
1/ Provisional driving licence
2/ Test appointment letter
3/ Signed photographic identification
NB: if you fail to produce these documents you will not be able to sit the tests and you will lose you test fee!!

The test for new drivers is in two parts, the Theory Test and Hazard Perception Test. Both sections must be passed at the same time or you will have to re-sit both parts again at your next attempt. The pass certificate is valid for 2 years and you must pass your Practical Test in this time.

Multiple Choice Test
This section of the test is performed on a touch screen computer (as seem bottom right). The test has 50multiple choice questions and you must answer at least 43of them correctly to pass this section.
You have 50minutes to answer all the questions. To answer simply touch your choice of answer on the screen. Each question may have more than 1 answer so read the question carefully.

Hazard Perception Test
This section is taken after the multiple choice section and this time you will use a computer mouse to register the hazard. The test contains 15 clips each around one minute long, 13 of the clips contain one scorable hazard and two clips contain 2 scorable hazards. As soon as you see a hazard you must click the left mouse button, on each clip there will be other hazards so don’t be afraid to click on additional hazards as you will not be penalised.
N.B. If the system thinks you are trying to cheat by clicking rythmatically you will score 0 for that clip.
You must score at least 44 out of a maximum of 75 points to pass this section.
