STARTING DRIVING LESSONS IN GLASGOWBefore you start to learn to drive, make sure you are aware of the eyesight requirements. If you need glasses or corrective lenses to meet the requirements, it’s a legal requirement that you wear them every time you drive. The distance requirement for the eyesight test using old style number plates is 20.5 metres or 20 metres if the new-style number plate is used. New-style number plates are easily identifiable starting with two letters e.g. AB 51 ABC. Before you can start your driving lessons you need to have a provisional driving licence. Therefore, if you do not have one you will need to apply for one from the DVLA. CLICK HERE TO APPLY ON-LINE FOR PROVISIONAL. You can obtain a provisional driving licence application form from ADC by clicking: request provisional application form or calling our freephone 0800-064-0808 or by visiting your local post office. You can apply for your provisional car driving license up to three months before your seventeenth birthday (however, it would not become valid until you were seventeen). Although you can start your driving lessons as soon as your provisional driving license becomes valid, you cannot book the driving test until you have passed the theory test. You should be able to book your theory test with a few days notice and receive your test results on the day of the test. You can book your theory test to take place on or shortly after your seventeenth birthday provided you have a provisional driving license. The waiting time for a driving test is typically 6 -10 weeks. Sooner dates are usually available through test appointment cancellations. Provided you have a valid provisional driving license you can start your driving lessons before you take your theory test, Thus, combining your theory study with the early part of your driving course. This gives you the added advantage of being able to consult your instructor on various matters relating to the theory test and your theory study. Once you had passed your theory test your instructor could book your driving test and schedule the remaining part of your driving lessons. From the above you can see
that learning to drive can be achieved quickly. However, it is important
to book your course in advance to ensure you get the desired lessons
and test dates. Our staff can advise and assist you in choosing the
right training course. TELEPHONE OR TEXT : 0771-043-8696 |
